The problem

A cross-border shipping operation (air freight, sea cargo, frozen goods) spanning branches in multiple countries was coordinating quotes, shipments, invoicing, and customer updates through manual, error-prone processes — with no self-service for customers and no unified view for management.

The solution

A three-part ecosystem: a Django REST backend with a multi-branch engine and branch-isolated data scoping; a Next.js admin portal with real-time operational metrics, manifest management, and driver assignment; and a public customer site where customers estimate costs, request and accept quotes, book shipments, upload customs documents, and track packages — all without creating an account.

• WhatsApp message engine via Twilio: instant booking confirmations, one-click invoice dispatch to customer chats, and bulk broadcasts to every customer on a manifest route — with delivery logs and retry handling
• Operations dashboard: active packages, cargo-type breakdowns (air/sea/frozen), top routes, revenue analytics, and period-over-period trends
